Letter to Region 6 Child Care Providers

Dear Child Care Provider

This letter is to inform our valued Child Care Providers of new protocols that have been implemented effective March 16th, 2020. 

MountainHeart Child Care Resource and Referral, a program of MountainHeart Community Services Inc. will be suspending all Face-to-Face contact with all customers as a preventive measure in response to the COVID-19 Health crisis.  Effective immediately we are asking all providers to abide by the following procedures:


  • Payment Forms and Attendance Sheets are to be mailed, faxed, scanned, emailed, taking of smart phone pictures, texts, utilization of other types of electronic submission, or can be placed in our drop-off box at your local MountainHeart Child Care Resource and Referral office
  • Staff will continue to use the same procedures that are currently in place for reviewing and entering for provider payment
  • All Face-to-Face Professional Development trainings, Technical Assistant visits, and TRAILS visits are cancelled at this time as well

Please note that on-line trainings are allowable, if the training is connected to a WV Core Knowledge/Competency.  If you have any questions concerning a specific training, please call your local DHHR Child Care Regulatory Specialist, or a member of the MountainHeart Child Care R&R Professional Development Team.

MountainHeart CCR&R offices will be abiding by any new mandates on the Federal or State level regarding the COVID 19 crisis for the safety and well-being of staff and customers.  MountainHeart will re-evaluate the COVID 19 situation within the next two weeks and will keep all informed of any updates via the MountainHeart website and our Facebook page.

Additionally, please do not hesitate to call your local MountainHeart CCR&R office should you have any questions concerning the implementation of the new protocols and procedures.

At this time and until further notice, MountainHeart offices will be staffed Monday through Thursday. Staff will not be working on site on Fridays. Please call your local MountainHeart CCR&R office and leave a message with any questions or inquiries you may have, and a staff person will return your call as soon as possible.

MountainHeart CCR&R appreciates your understanding and assistance during this time of crisis and want you to know we will strive to provide you with the best possible service.  We truly value and appreciate the quality of care you provide for our WV children and families.
