COVID-19 Testing & CDC Guidelines for All Family Child Care Programs

Family Child Care Facilities Currently Operating as Critical Care Sites:

Testing: As of April 24,2020, the Governor required all family child care facility staff to obtain COVID-19 testing. Please find attached a memorandum requiring testing for family child care facilities who are currently operating as Critical Care sites and those family child care facility providers who intend to reopen. The attached memorandum includes directions, testing site information and contact information for providers who have questions or need clarification.

CDC Guidelines: The Bureau for Public Health requires all currently operating family child care facilities operating as critical care sites and those family child care facilities intending to reopen to adhere to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines. There is both a signature form, checklist and contact information for providers who have questions or need clarification.

Family Child Care Homes Currently Operating as Critical Care Sites:

Testing: At this time, family child care homes are not participating in the COVID-19 testing for child care providers.

Family Child Care Facilities and Homes Planning to Re-Open as Critical Care Sites:

CDC Guidelines: For family child care homes and facilities that are currently closed, the attached Guidance form, Checklist, and Memorandum will need to be completed (along with the Critical Care Site Registration Form) and submitted to your local health department for facilities and to the Regulatory Specialist for homes prior to re-opening.
