Referral?<\/h4>\n<p class=\"\">The Child Care Resource &amp; Referral program is designed to provide assistance to new and existing child care providers by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>entering subsidy billing for child care providers into the PATH system for payment<\/li>\n<li>providing professional development and technical assistance to providers through group training, on-site technical assistance and the operation of the Traveling Resource and Information Library System (TRAILS)<\/li>\n<li>providing individualized behavior management\/support to providers and families for specific children experiencing behavioral challenges that interfere with their ability to participate in child care<\/li>\n<li>providing an annual grant (as funding allows) for family and facility child care providers to help meet health and safety requirements and improve the quality of care<\/li>\n<li>providing expertise to promote continuous quality improvement<\/li>\n<li>providing assistance in enrolling in and advancing though the WV Tiered Reimbursement System<\/li>\n<li>providing assistance in maintaining a higher quality child care setting and higher rating<\/li>\n<li>providing assistance in navigating the WV CARES system and required paperwork for those wishing to become child care providers<\/li>\n<li>providing child care resource and referral services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\" style=\"padding-bottom: 42px;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-2 col-sm-2 col-xs-12 col-lg-2\">\n<div>\n<p class=\"\"><i class=\"color1-color color1-border-color fa fa-heart\" style=\"font-size: 25px; border: 2px solid; border-radius: 15px; padding: 15px;\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><span style=\"display: none;\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-10 col-sm-10 col-xs-12 col-lg-10\">\n<div>\n<h4 style=\"margin-top: 0px;\">What are the requirements to become a child care provider?<\/h4>\n<p>Potential child care providers must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be 18 years of age or older<\/li>\n<li>be fingerprinted and have no serious criminal history<\/li>\n<li>have a physical exam<\/li>\n<li>meet the regulations set forth by the WV DoHS<\/li>\n<li>complete the required amount of training set forth by the WV DoHS<\/li>\n<li>must be able to read and write and understand the rules, agreements, payment forms and paperwork involved in the program Process:<\/li>\n<li>WV CARES\n<ul>\n<li>Fingerprinting of all adults in the household who are 18 years of age or older<\/li>\n<li>Background check<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>WV STARS registration\n<ul>\n<li>Must have a WV STARS number in order to track training hours<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Complete the pre-service training\n<ul>\n<li>Self-paced training consisting of ten modules<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Attend provider orientation to:\n<ul>\n<li>Begin the registration process<\/li>\n<li>Complete required forms<\/li>\n<li>Learn about educational opportunities and other valuable resources<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Complete the payment form process training\n<ul>\n<li>Once approved by the WV DoHS, you must contact the local MountainHeart office to complete the payment form process training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If assistance is needed with this process, please contact the Provider Support Specialist at 304-637-2840.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row\" style=\"padding-bottom: 42px;\">\n<div class=\"col-md-2 col-sm-2 col-xs-12 col-lg-2\">\n<div>\n<p class=\"\"><i class=\"color1-color color1-border-color fa fa-heart\" style=\"font-size: 25px;
