What Is EMERGENCY REPAIR or REPLACEMENT (ERRP)?
Emergency Repair or Replacement is funded by The Department of Human Services (DoHS) Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. This program is designed to assist Low Income Families with either the repair or replacement of heating or cooling systems that are not working properly.
The Emergency Repair / Replacement Program (ERRP) assists eligible homeowners whose primary heating systems are completely non-operable, severely malfunctioning, or unsafe. The program helps address emergency heating situations to ensure households have access to safe and reliable heat.
Who Is Eligible?
This program is available to homeowners only. Applicants must meet income guidelines and have at least one of the following household circumstances:
- Senior age 60 or older
- Individual with a disability
- Child under age 5 living in the household
Additional Requirements
- Primary heating system is completely non-operable, severely malfunctioning or unsafe or
- Household is actively relying on unsafe heating methods such as electric or kerosene space heaters, unvented gas or propane space heaters, unsafe fireplace, wood/coal stove or using a kitchen stove or oven for heat.
Maximum Monthly Income (2026)
- 1 Person Household: $2,454.00
- 2 Person Household: $3,209.00
- 3 Person Household: $3,965.00
- 4 Person Household: $4,720.00

Wyoming and Fayette County residents may apply online, request an application by mail, submit applications and supporting documents by email, or drop off applications in person.
