Notice to Child Care Providers
The West Virginia Department of Human Services, Bureau for Family Assistance, has issued an important update regarding Billable Days of Care under the Child Care Subsidy Program.
After a comprehensive review of federal guidelines and statewide feedback, the state will continue upholding the 4-hour rule for billing days.
➡️ This means four (4) hours of care = one (1) billable day, regardless of a child’s age or setting.
This decision helps maintain consistency, ensure program stability, and support predictability for both families and providers. WV DHHS remains committed to supporting child care providers and strengthening services for children and families across the state.
